Expert advice. Advice. Gentle guidance

I recommend sessions with Robert to anyone dealing with multiple contexts at the same time, and struggling in different aspects of their life: he is a wholesome therapist, reliable, focused, empathic and friendly. The right balance to pursue a journey together, whether to get over a short term crisis or to slowly evolve into being a more structured, happy and healthy person. I started video sessions with Rob in October of 2022 when my life felt very overwhelming. He has helped me ever since: both in coming to terms with personal and family issues and in focusing to pull through with my career moves and PhD work. After having tried different forms of in-person therapy in the different countries I have lived in, he is the first person with whom I found regular support, focused on a broad range of issues, and most importantly: with a true understanding of multilocal living, the struggle of anchoring to new places, while still nurturing a broad network of friends and loved ones. He is open-minded, you can discuss anything with him. Thanks Rob, you have made such a difference!

Robert has been brilliant! Patient and understanding as well as knowledgeable and straight talking. He made me feel very relaxed, despite my initial nervousness and very quickly it felt like I was chatting to a mate. In a short space of time, he has equipped me with some easy to understand tools that will help me with my depression and general well being. A lovely chap and a great help

Thanks for the happiness series. I listened and loved it. Thank you. Finding happiness in little things really would help.

Good Morning Robert. I've just listened to your first episode on happiness and instantly I've got value from it. I had a very small argument this morning which left me not being in the best mood. I was expecting to spend the rest of the day being grumpy and just going through the motions at work. After listening to this episode I was able to change my mindset too look positively at the rest of my day and see how I didn't want to waste it being upset. I also have now sent a message to try resolving the issue from this morning. I'll try to keep these ideas in my mind as much as I can. Thank you and I look forward to our session later

Hi Robert, I heard your audio and I think it makes a lot of sense. Sometimes it's easy to be mad at something that goes wrong but we ignore it when it its good. A specific case for me is that I resent when someone reacts like that to my actions. For example when I make a bad move and my Football coach reprimands me, or I mess up with something and my wife nags at me I get mad because they don't make remarks on the positive things. It is kind of a reverse situation where I should fight to not lose my happy state because someone say something negative about me.

Hi Mr Paynter. Thank you for this message, this graph makes a lot of sense specially since I felt I went back to bad habits last week but I do feel better than before starting working on myself

Hi Robert, thank you for those audio messages! I guess I take a lot of stuff for granted every day. For example I complain a lot about how I miss our old house and don't really appreciate the new one, but I am glad we have found a space where we can live. I also sometimes take my little siblings for granted because I focus on them being loud and annoying, while I'm also glad I have them in my life and get to spend time with them.

Thanks Robert, these are great. I've had a stressful day and that's made my mind peaceful. I've just finished my last day of work for four months! Very exciting stuff, but that last day was a killer - so much to wrap up. Now I've just got to downsize my things for the millionth time in two weeks, clean and leave this flat, and then I'm free! (From the life admin, but still very much focused on my mind work.

Cuddled wife in bed and told her how very special she is to me. Overinvested my emotions into yoga this morning. Smiled when i stretched into upward dog and really feel the joy of sun salutations. Went for a walk at lunch with my wife. Feeling the sun on face I smiled telling myself how amazing this feels. For my workout tonight i promised myself to overinvest my emotions into it. Celebrate any small achievements. Each day getting better Robert. I am focus on over engaging my emotions more and have a weekend of socials planned with friends

Hi Rob. Thank you for this, it was a very enjoyable listen. Totally agree that we need to appreciate the simple things in our lives more. I really liked how you mentioned something as simple as a pencil sharpener. Listening to your examples really made me smile. Perhaps you are right. We need to change mindsets and really notice all the blessings. More on the things in a day that we should appreciate more. Have a nice evening and thank you very much for sending all these. I started the day with your breathing and relaxation exercises. Nevertheless it was a lovely way to start a day. So today really wasn't bad at all.

Hi Robert, sorry for the late response. I just had a lot of things on my mind this week, so that I couldn't listen to your messages. Sorry about that. But now, when I finally heard, I can agree 100% that when we appreciate the small things we have, our life is better, and we see everything in a better light. This kind of approach I applied some time ago and know it brings excellent results. Especially when I feel overwhelmed or unhappy with certain things in my life.

Hi Doctor Robert, How are you today? I am gratefull to find you as my therapist. I enjoy your input about Hapiness. Only listening to your exercise of relaxation was wonderful. I felt quite relaxed, I did it once and made me really relaxed. When it comes to being gratefull for the things that I have... I need to pratice more, I am quite sure I can do it... and I'm still not in the right mood for that. I mean, while I want to be grateful in the other side of my brain, I feel that something is missing... loneless maybe. I am starting to realize how tragic is being a old man/woman. Sometimes when i go the work by feet, I catch a old woman staring to the window and I start to wonder why she is so lonely? what is her story? Because from my point of view she must be lonely, nobody to talk. that's makes me sad. My reason for telling you this is we should be grateful in life so that in older times we don't end up in a room full of emptiness waiting for the D-day to come. I appreciate your time and effort to help me, You are my angel.

Thank you for everything! You've been inspiring, professional, and trusting. More than anyone else in my life so far. I will surely miss you in the way ahead. And I wish you all the best from my heart
